What Reclaim does
Reclaim helps you reduce doomscrolling by restricting selected apps until you complete a quick task to earn usage time. Time is intended to count only while you’re actively using the restricted apps.
Getting started
- Open Reclaim and complete onboarding.
- Allow the required permissions when prompted.
- Choose which apps you want Reclaim to restrict.
- Complete a task to earn time, then use your restricted apps.
Common issues
I can’t select apps or nothing happens when I try
Reclaim needs Screen Time / Family Controls authorization.
Open Reclaim and go to Settings, then re-run permissions. If you previously denied the prompt, you may need to enable it in iOS Settings.
Apps aren’t blocking
Make sure you have selected at least one app to restrict.
If you changed your selection, fully close and reopen Reclaim once to refresh state.
Time isn’t counting down the way I expect
Reclaim is designed so that time is consumed based on app usage, not wall clock time. If you’re not actively using a restricted app, you should not be spending time.
I earned time but apps are still blocked
Try these steps:
- Force quit Reclaim and reopen it.
- Complete one task again to trigger a fresh allowance.
- Restart your iPhone if restrictions still don’t update.
The app is too strict or too easy
Adjust task settings:
- Increase or decrease reward minutes
- Add cooldowns
- Add max per day limits
Tips
Make tasks specific and small. “Wipe down the counters and stove” works better than “clean the kitchen.” Quick wins keep the system usable.
Privacy
Reclaim is designed to work on-device. We don’t sell your data. Your app selections and task history stay on your device unless you explicitly enable a sync feature.
